Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The short version: Iron Log collects absolutely nothing. No data ever leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs phoning home.

Data Collection

Iron Log does not collect any personal data, usage data, or analytics of any kind. The app has no network connections, no backend servers, and no data transmission of any kind during normal use.

We do not know how many people use Iron Log, how often they use it, what exercises they log, or anything else about their activity. This is intentional.

Data Storage

All data you enter — workouts, sessions, bodyweight logs, settings, preferences, and badges — is stored exclusively on your device using the device's local storage (localStorage). This data is sandboxed to the app and is not accessible by other apps or by us.

Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the Export or Backup features, in which case the data is saved to a file on your device or shared to a destination of your choosing. We have no involvement in or visibility into this process.

Third Parties

Iron Log shares no data with any third parties. No third-party analytics libraries, advertising networks, crash reporters, or tracking SDKs are included in the app.

The app uses the following Android system APIs which operate entirely on-device: local notifications (for training and backup reminders), file system access (for backup export), and the Android share sheet (for sharing exports to apps of your choice). None of these involve any external network communication.

Permissions

Iron Log may request the following permissions:

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — used to send local training reminders and backup reminders. These notifications are generated entirely on-device. No notification content is transmitted externally.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE — used to keep the session timer running accurately when the app is backgrounded during a workout. No data is transmitted.

VIBRATE — used for haptic feedback during workout logging.

Children's Privacy

Iron Log is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including minors, as the app collects no data at all.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Given the nature of the app, significant changes are unlikely.
